OUR STAFF

Barbara Upston

In support of Federal, State, and corporate clients, Ms. Upston has garnered more than 25 years of experience as a management consultant on matters regarding human resources, organizational development, and group facilitation. She has developed strategic planning programs, selected staff and management personnel, delivered training, and evaluated workforce programs. Ms. Upston has also assisted client organizations with quality improvement efforts, consensus building, leadership development, employee performance appraisals, diversity training, and other related projects.

As a prior contractor to the U.S. Department of Labor Training Academy, Ms. Upston designed and delivered training to facilitate staff development initiatives. Since then, she has coordinated numerous planning meetings for the National Institutes of Health leadership, during which policy issues were discussed, such as tobacco control, health care disparities, and increasing support for minority investigators. From 1999 to 2001, she coordinated strategic planning retreats on behalf of the Presidential Task Force on Employment of Adults with Disabilities, the National Safety Council, and the National Institute on Literacy.

In addition to being certified in Mediation by the Justice Center of Atlanta, she received a B.A. in Education from Wheelock College.
