Charles L. Smith, Senior Vice President

Mr. Smith is a highly skilled technical writer and publisher with more than 20 years of experience managing and conducting major projects. He also has an extensive background in computer applications and systems development.

Mr. Smith has successfully conducted and managed large projects for the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration; Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Highway Administration; Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Health Care Policy and Research; Department of Labor; and others. Many of the projects involved developing and applying integrated technical data systems, as well as technical writing and editing, electronic publishing and Internet publishing.

Mr. Smith worked as a technical editor at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and as a medical editor and writer at the Medical University of South Carolina. He taught graduate-level courses in technical writing at the University of Tennessee and at the Medical University of South Carolina. He received a B.A. degree in English from the University of Tennessee in 1966, with minors in Physics and Mathematics.
