OUR STAFF

Arnold N. Schwartz, Ph.D.

Dr. Schwartz has a distinguished 40-year career in economic and statistical analysis, with particular emphasis on high-level economic analysis of issues that affect the safety of the U.S. population. Recently for the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, he assisted in revising the analyses and calculating the costs versus benefits of proposed rules to improve pipeline system management and reduce risks related to human factors in the control room. While employed with the Federal Aviation Administration, he was engaged in forecasting commercial aviation traffic and studying the implementation of drug and alcohol testing within the airline industry.

Dr. Schwartz has also held positions with the Center for Naval Analyses and The White House’s Office of Management and Budget and Office of National Drug Control Policy. While serving these organizations, Dr. Schwartz managed numerous economic studies and projects in policy development, program development, regulatory approaches, and manpower planning.

Dr. Schwartz has taught statistics at New York University and quantitative methods at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Schwartz holds a Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, and Operations Research, along with an M.B.A. in Statistics and a B.S. in Statistics and Economics, all from New York University.
