While working for the Federal Government, she produced consumer and business publications, speeches, newspaper opinion columns, reports, press materials, and television and radio public service advertisements. At the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, she developed national educational campaigns on public safety and health issues and held several positions, including Special Advisor to the Chairman. As the Media Director for the Federal Trade Commission's Office of Consumer and Business Education, she managed national campaigns on issues including credit rights, housing, and personal finances. Ms. Sachs also worked in several media organizations, including public television, where she produced news and public affairs programming. She has won numerous awards during her career for her work in communications. Ms. Sachs received a joint B.A./M.A. in History/American Studies from Case Western Reserve University and an M.A. in Social Sciences/Communications from the University of Chicago. In addition to her work on Econometrica's editorial staff, Ms. Sachs is an Adjunct Professor at American University.
