OUR STAFF

John Douglass

Mr. Douglass is an economic analyst with a strong background in statistical programming, database management, abstract valuation, and writing. He has a widely varied research background in the fields of health, safety/injury, transportation, housing, and at-risk youth, conducting analyses that required attaching commensurate time or money values to both conventional and abstract line items. For the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, he helped assemble an environmental scan to help create a national framework for health care quality measurement. For the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, he investigated the costs of truck-involved crashes as an injury-cost expert.

Mr. Douglass previously performed systems programming for the massive Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS/NMES) and has worked with at least 19 major databases. Among the numerous publications and research reports he has assisted with or coauthored, he contributed to several injury-cost studies involving estimations of lost quality of life, as well as “intangibles,” such as psychological injury. He is a proficient spreadsheet modeler and SAS programmer who has performed regression analyses using advanced techniques. Since joining Econometrica, Mr. Douglass has developed proficiency using Microsoft Project to track ongoing work. Mr. Douglass received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and an M.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
