He has performed economic analysis in the areas of public finance, labor, health, industrial organization, transportation, telecommunications, and the environment. Dr. Bellemore has employed advanced econometric techniques in his research—including probit and tobit models, Heckman correction procedures, and resourceful instrumental variable approaches—to correct for the biases and missing data problems inherent in applied economic research. He has extensive experience managing large data sets, critically evaluating empirical/econometric studies, analyzing economic policy, supervising projects, and interacting directly with clients. For Econometrica, Dr. Bellemore has directed regulatory evaluations for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Vassar College for 8 years, where he became proficient at elucidating difficult economic and statistical concepts to a nontechnical audience in a concise and effective manner. Dr. Bellemore holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, having earned his undergraduate degree (Sc.B.) in Applied Mathematics/Economics from Brown University.
