Data analysis, database programming and technical
publishing support
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
Under subcontract to Rainbow Technologies, Inc.,
Econometrica is providing data analysis, database programming, and
technical publishing support to the National Center for Statistics
and Analysis (NCSA) of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA), U.S. Department of Transportation. Services currently being
provided by Econometrica under this contract include: (1) maintenance,
updating, and operation of an automated database system that supplies
data from NHTSA’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) and
General Estimates System (GES) databases to publication formats for
NCSA’s annual Overview Fact Sheet on Motor Vehicle and Traffic
Safety and individual fact sheets on Alcohol, Occupant Protection,
Speeding, Children, Young Drivers, Older Population, Pedestrians, Pedalcyclists,
Motorcycles, Large Trucks, School Buses, State Traffic Data, and State
Alcohol Estimates; and (2) maintenance, updating, and operation of
an automated database system that supplies data from FARS and GES to
publication formats for NCSA’s Traffic Safety Facts: A Compilation
of Motor Vehicle Crash Data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System
and the General Estimates System and a pocket-size FARS/GES Data Summary.
