Review and dissemination of research
on achieving drug-free workplaces
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
Our work under this contract is designed to provide
state-of-the-art findings to support the improvement of drug-free workplaces
and the credentialing training of medical doctors who serve as Medical
Review Officers. The contract is devised to disseminate research findings
and related materials on the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention’s
(CSAP’s) Workplace Resource Center’s Web site and other
Web sites as appropriate.The objectives and general requirements of
our work under this contract are the following:
•
Review current findings, articles and reports related to drug-free workplaces
and health/wellness substance abuse prevention and early intervention
programs incorporating unpublished reports, products, training manuals,
and datasets.
•
Determine where further analysis, report writing, and enhancement of
findings are feasible and would significantly add to the knowledge base
produced with the Division of Workplace Programs (DWP), CSAP, and SAMHSA.
•
Identify programs that may be applicable for National Registry of Evidence-based
Programs and Practices (NREPP) status.
•
Produce a prioritized plan related to the significance and cost benefit
of the various research/evaluation workplace prevention/early intervention
based areas.
•
Select with GPO approval one to four studies per year and conduct secondary
analyses of datasets, including preparation of final reports/products
for multimedia environments. Multimedia environments will include peer-reviewed
journals, e-briefings, video presentations, conference presentations,
instruments, articles and presentations for the CSAP Workplace Resource
Center and other sources.
